Remember......9/11

I was getting ready for school at my house in Cedar City when my brother called telling me to turn on the T.V. I was in shock. It didn't dawn on me that this was real. But after a few minutes, I called to my roommates and we watched together as the planes hit. I was still in shock. Then, the first tower fell. It was like watching a movie or something. Nothing real. The debris filled the streets and the second tower fell. I didn't realize how much this would affect the whole US and what would come in these years that followed. After the towers fell, I went to the music building where I met Mike. We were just dating then. I hugged him. Up stairs, one of the teachers had his T.V. on and people began gathering around. The Pentagon was the next to be attacked. My friend Renee came into his office crying. Her dad worked there and she had no way of contacting him. We all cried too. Following the attacks, SUU held a candlelight vigil much like the rest of the country. Being in the music dept., I participated with the choir as we sang songs about our country, our freedom. We cried for those lost, we cried for the families, we cried for our freedom. I remember the feelings I felt. I remember wanting to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING, so I prayed. I prayed often for those people and for our country.

It's a sacred day in the minds and hearts of every American. You are all tagged to tell your story of 9/11.
