My Anna

Anna is a very spiritually minded little girl. She has a lot of faith and loves Heavenly Father so much. Lately, when she's playing house or something, Heavenly Father is one of her friends that goes everywhere with her. On trains, in her house- everywhere. Her prayers are SO long. She asks Him to bless everyone and everything about 10 times in each prayer. It's sweet, except at dinner time when we are all starving and she says a 5 min. prayer. She carries around books all the time because she loves to read. What is interesting though, is that instead of carrying around favorite childhood books, she carries scriptures or anything that remotely looks like them. It drives Mike crazy because it's usually his scriptures or his church books. It's hard, however, to tell her that she can't carry and "read" those books when she loves them so much.

Today, she woke up and her voice was cracking. Her audition for Annie is tomorrow and she was worried she wouldn't be able to sing. I told her that she can say a prayer and that Heavenly Father can help her. I was surprised by her response. She looked at me and said, "Well, Mom, maybe Daddy can say the pray for me because he has the special power when he puts his hands on my head." I just couldn't help but feel blessed by witnessing the pure faith of a little child. I felt humbled. Her faith is stronger then mine and I can see what is meant by "having the faith of a child". She so pure and I can't help but wonder if there is some memory that she still carries deep inside her of the premortal existence.

That is so sweet. But really, you need to give yourself a pat on the back. Kids don't learn things like that without a good example and some awesome teaching in the home. So give yourself some credit too. :O)
