We went to Cedar City yesterday so that I could participate in the Utah Summer Games. I ran the 10K this morning. The kids had no complaints about going and staying with Grandma and Uncle Matthew.
Bray was a little concerned about climbing the tree until I pulled out the camera. The kids love pictures.

Ty helped Grandma clean up the backyard.
Anna loves the sandbox
We had dinner at the Athlete Social. There were games for the kids, pizza, and popsicles. It was fun being at SUU- my Alma Mater. The kids loved the fact that I fell in love with daddy at SUU.

Ok, so before the race, we met at Main Street park. June 11th, right? FREEZING!! We had to be at the park no later than 6:15 am. I woke up every hour last night freaking myself out that I had missed my alarm! I got up at 5:15 and got ready. When I got out there everyone was huddling together trying to stay warm. We got on buses that took us up the canyon to the start line. We had to shed our outerwear at that point. The wind and the low temp. made it hard to warm-up. We started off at 7am. It took about two miles for me to warm-up. A friend and student ran the race as well!
Here's me after the run. Half way through I thought I was going to die. I literally told myself I was the dumbest person alive for signing up for the race and that there was NO WAY I would try to do a Half Marathon (which has been my goal). By the end, I was thrilled with the race, my time, and my speed (though slow compared to "real" athletes). I finished in 1 hours and 7 min. Each mile averaged 10 min. and 51 seconds (though my first two miles were at about 9:30). That's the fastest I have ever run. I am proud of myself. I'm not running to prove anything to anyone, but to prove to myself that I can do something that I have always thought was out of my reach and to be healthy.
