I thought that since I only briefly mentioned the new piano in the last post, I needed to let you know about the piano and the wonderful people who gave it to us. We are not able to afford a new piano (like most everyone I know). I googled "free piano" about a year ago and came across a web site- http://www.pianoadoption.com/ . For the past year we have been searching for a piano on this site, but there is rarely a piano in Utah. We have searched neighboring states and have looked into a few, but the owners of the pianos that we have inquired about have been very specific about the piano's going to an institution of some kind. Knowing we would be signing Ty up for piano, we knew we had to find something. I checked the site again and there was only one- posted by a woman in Northern Utah. She had put the piano in storage following the untimely death of her husband. Her husband had given the piano to their daughter as a gift a few years prior to his death. The statement on the web site said simply that she would like it to go to someone who would play it in his memory. Mike and I were both touched by the story and we e-mailed about the piano. She agreed to give it to us. We were SO excited! We had to figure out a way to move it to St. George. Mike went to SLC last week and we thought that having him rent a U-haul and have my Dad and bro-in-law, Ryan, help him move it would be the best idea. We couldn't get every one's schedules to match and Mike was worried about traveling with the piano. I looked into a few moving services and most charged $600-$900 for that move. We couldn't afford that. At the last minute, The Piano Gallery called and said they would move it for $320. That was less then the cost of the truck rental! It was delivered on Wed. of this week. The bench is still up north so we are using the one we had been using for the "piano of death" (look at the next post if you aren't sure what I'm referring to). We need to have it tuned and have a few things fixed, but the sound is brilliant and we are very happy to have it in our home. Thank you to the wonderful woman and her daughter (I'm with holding names just for privacy matters) for parting with the piano and letting us have it. You have really made a difference in our lives right now and for years to come.

It's very nice! I'm so glad you have a new-to-you piano instead of you old 'killer' piano! Hope everyone is feeling better!
