Tyson is 8!

Tyson turned 8 on Dec. 23rd! Mike and I can't be old enough to have a child this old, right? Now he's very tall, super skinny, still very blonde, and looks like a mini Mike (minus the blonde part). He's also a good friend and a smart kid. He loves Star Wars, Legos, games (all kinds), building, drawing, and writing stories.

On the 20th we had a surprise party for Tyson. We invited his neighborhood friends and a few school friends. I blindfolded him, Mike picked up the cake, and we took him to Jumpin' Jacks (indoor blow-up slides) for a fabulous party. The kids were mostly boys and very full of energy. We had pizza, cake, presents, and then a lot of bouncing and sliding. Mike and I certainly didn't keep up with them, but it was all worth the price of not having to clean up and going somewhere that was NOT my house. My wonderful sister reminded me to take my camera but just minutes later I forgot- so no pics of that party.

On his REAL b-day, Mike and I let Tyson open presents from us and then we took him to Pirate Island Pizza. We love having an occasion to go spend way too much money there :) Tyson got a bank. He has chores and an allowance now and we are teaching him to divide his money for saving, spending, and tithing for church.
Kung Zhu. If you don't know what these are you must not have an 8 yr old boy right now. They are "the thing" right now.

He got his Cub Scout uniform and his Cub Scout book. I thought he'd be very bored with this but is SO excited. I had NO clue how much this stuff costs. If you are about to venture into this, save up and buy the clothes big so they will last!!

Me and my boy at Pirate Island.

Waiters singing Happy B-day.

We didn't have a match, so we took a fake picture of him blowing out the candle.

He got over 300 tickets in 10 min. He was thrilled.

Anna took her fair share as well.

We all had a blast! Happy birthday Ty!
