Pfunder Pfighters

  • On Saturday, we joined our friend Kevin Pfunder, his family, and a couple thousand people at the MS walk in St. George. Kevin has MS and he heads a team each year called the "Pfunder Pfighters". Kevin works at Fossil Ridge and gets the kids at school really involved in raising money for the cause. This year, the team raised $22,000!!!! It's an amazing amount of money and we want to say congrats to Kevin, Marilyn, Lauren, Morgan, Ade, and Lili for the work they do. Our family has developed a closer relationship with the Pfunders this year and we just love them. GOOD JOB!

Kevin handing out awards at the conclusion of the walk.

Tyson wears this hat everywhere. He made a good pirate on the walk. He had only one set back- he ran his finger along the ground as Mike pushed him in a stroller, and Ty had some skin removed when another storller ran over it. OUCH! It was his middle finger, so it was a bit embarrassing to have our 5 yr old walk around the rest of the day flipping people off as he showed them his mishap!

Anna had a blast on the walk. Before the walk loud, upbeat music was being played, and Anna was doing this kind of butt dance for everyone. So, between our 3 yr old doing a booty dance and Ty flipping people off, we looked like some "terrific" parents!

Bring on the Bunny

Happy Easter everyone. I just wanted to post some pics of our Easter fun. We did the usual stuff on Sat. (eggs, preparing food, etc) and on Sun. we had some families over to our home for dinner. We had an egg hunt with all the kids and had a blast. It was hard to pick out of the 40 some odd pictures we took, but here are some of them. Hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Anna's georgous creations.

Tyson found the "magic" of the clear crayon to be very interesting.
Ty really liked his mini super soaker.

After waking, she came into my room really tired and slow. As soon as I mentioned the word Easter she dropped everything on the floor and ran downstairs.

She liked the Easter Bunny.

Before church on Sunday. Oh so cute.

Ade (Ad-ee), Anna, and Tyson on the hunt. What do you think, 10 pound baby? Yeah, I've eaten a bit too much.
Treasures! Yes, she is really sitting in the rocks in her Easter dress.
(Beth, I think she looks just like your little kid pictures in this.)

Sort of a lame picture, but this is the most bread I've ever made at one time. I made some for Sacrament meeting at church and decided to make a lot.

What a NOSE!

  • Hey everyone! We had the whole family at this "photo session". Anna is really sick, so she slept on Mike's shoulder while Tyson spun in circles on the floor. He did like seeing and hearing the heartbeat and seeing the 3D photo's.
  • We were a bit thrown off by the big nose photo's. The technician said Brayden's really squished in there and his face was probably pushed up against the side. We're hoping the schnouzer turns out a bit smaller than these pics show.
  • He's weighing in at 2.13 pounds (which I guess is statistically around average, 66%) and they were able to see almost everything this time. He's practicing his breathing and I can feel the hicups now. We saw his lungs inflate on the screen. He opened and closed his mouth a few times. It was cute.
  • Have fun looking!

This is the first one done. He was a squished against the side of whatever is in there, but wow, that nose looks huge!

This one is cute. I still think he is going
to look a bit like Anna. He has the little chin and big cheeks. His eyes are open in this picture.

He's scowling, his eyes are open, and his nose is again pressed against something. That is his arm coming up in front of his face.

SPRING BREAK 2008

We had our spring break this past week. It started with a few days at home. Mike and Tyson finished taking the rocks out from around our grass in the backyard. We filled it in with soil and then put down sod. Mike did a great job and it will be so nice to have more grass (and less ROCK for the kids to throw).

On Wednesday, we left for Bountiful to visit my parents. We kept busy.

Thursday, Mike and I took the kids (Ty, Anna, and cousin Alex) to the Gateway children's museum. We spent 2 hours exploring and playing. So much fun! I wish we had one down here! That night, I went with my mom, my sister Mandi, and Anna to "Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes". Anna never took her eyes off the ice. She didn't stop clapping. We all spoiled Anna like crazy and she had a blast. The boys went with Aunt Beth and Uncle Chad to an indoor carnival place with rides and prizes. They were in heaven, too.

Friday, we had an Easter egg hunt and Alex's birthday party. The kids had so much fun. Mike and I took the kids to visit some friends on both Friday and Saturday and then we came home. It was a fast trip, but we had fun and the kids will remember it for a long time. Here are some photo's from a few of our stops.

Tyson finding eggs.

Anna finding candy.

Alex and Anna in a REAL helicopter.

Ty and Alex watching paper fly up to the top of a tube.

Anna playing in the CUTEST little house! She made me some food.

  • Spring break- not at all like when we were in college!

Ode to My Father

My Dad's birthday was on march 6th. I feel terrible, because even though I remembered to call him about 7 times during the day, I also forgot 7 times, so I ended up being the black sheep of the family by not calling my Dad. To make up for my lack of support in my dads old age, I decided to post a list about why I love my dad. My intentions are completly pure. Well, that is if you don't count that I know this will completly embarass him. No worries though. I will be in trouble later!

Why I love my Dad........

  1. He let me watch the Simpsons when mom wouldn't let me.

  2. His abnoxious humor, that no one really gets, but we all laugh anyway. Well, that's not true, we sadly do kinda "get" his humor.

  3. His honesty ("Why haven't you done your hair yet dear?")

  4. Yelling at the top of his lungs when dropping us off at high school "I LOVE YOU! LEARN LOTS AT SCHOOL TODAY! DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE YOU?" Not the least big embarrassing.

  5. His hugs.

  6. He's always willing to help when we need it (thanks for helping with the swing set!).

  7. His unwavering worry and concern for my health. Maybe a little TOO much worry, but I know he really cares about me.

  8. I loved going to work with him as a kid. He has always worked in television, so I always felt important using his pass to open the doors and going into the studio's. My favorite part was the graphic art computers he would let me draw on.

  9. Seeing how helpful he is to others. I remember once, after I had learned to drive, he had me stop in the middle of an intersection to grab something that had fallen out of the back of someone's truck. The truck had stopped a few hundred yards from us and he jumped out in the middle of traffic to help salvage thier stuff. Right then I thought he was going to die and that he was crazy, but now I am glad I saw him do that. It's who he really is (though it really was a bit crazy). Now he is a pilot for Angle Flight, a bunch of volunteers who help sick people and thier families who can't afford the long flights/drives to and from appointments.

  10. His love for animals. HA! No, my dad says he hates animals, and maybe he really does. I've never been able to honestly figure it out. On one hand he let me keep every stray I brought home (yes, I was THAT kid) and he would play with them like crazy. On the other hand, he says he hates them and would rather be eating them than feeding them. (See the above photo's).

  11. O.k., so this could go on forever. I'm just gald he's my dad and that he loves me, my siblings, my mom, my kids, and my husband. I am sorry I didn't call you, Dad, but I hope you know I love you! Happy birthday! You're old!

UPDATES

UPDATES!
Tyson's fish NEMO

Anna and her loot.

  • Mike received the Desert Hills High/Sunrise Ridge Intermediate Band positions starting next year. He is very excited.

  • Mike also headed his fine arts team in winning the "Team of the Year" award for the school district this year. I'm a little jealous since this is the first year I'm not on the team and some of my efforts helped get them there, but I am glad for him and some of the other members of the team.

  • Tyson had been earning "money" at school for the work he does. He has done so much work that he ended up having the most money in his class. He got to spend it yesterday on toys and even a real goldfish that we have living with us now. Anna and I helped with the market and Anna was given some "money" for helping. She got to buy some pretty neat stuff too.
  • We are going to SLC next week during Spring Break to celebrate my nephew's b-day. He's turning 5. The kids are way excited and can't wait to see him.

  • Think that's it. Happy March!
