SUPAF is over. I spent today trying to put my house in order. It doesn't look much better than it did this morning, but at least I made a dent. Last year I was on a high at the end. This year, I'm left with this nagging feeling. It's not peaceful. I don't know how to explain it. Maybe I need a few days to recuperate with Mike actually in town before I make any judgements on how it all went, but overall, I'm kinda bummed right now. Disappointed in something.......
Found out that a friend died. Shocking. We were just at their house a week ago. Great person, great musician. He was talented in so many different ways. They were hoping to have a baby soon. He was only 41. I'm just blown away. My heart goes out to his wife. They are in our ward and we were able to do some secret service for them just recently. It was so fun and it's something I will always remember. I'm glad I knew him.
Think I'll go to bed. Glad Mike came home tonight. Don't think I could have gone another day. At least I have the company of the cutest kids in the world to lighten up life.

Not so Happy
How can one day be so great and the next so not? I was just basking in the sale of our condo and now this? I guess the details don't really matter. It's SUPAF drama anyway. The worst/best of it was when I came home to FINALLY take it easy to find a pool in my kitchen. The faucet finally died. It's been dying- slowly. Now it's buried. Mike is gone so I called my dad. He's the best. Told me what to do and talked me through it. Then called his buddy here in town and the guy came over, looked at my sink, then, with my dad's money, bought me a new faucet and installed it. I have the best dad. I haven't cried in a few months, but I cried today. I cried out of frustration, hurt, and gratitude. It was good to cry, and I'm sure I'll do it again tonight out of exhaustion and loneliness. Did I mention I was mean to my kids today too? I was short with them. Tyson hit Brayden (something that has never happened before) and I got so mad at him. He spend a great deal of time in his room and we haven't gotten a long all night. I sat with my sad 7 yr old at bedtime and told him I loved him and that I was sorry. Didn't make me feel much better but I hope he forgives me and I hope he can help me by choosing good things. I fed my kids at 7:15 tonight, and all I have eaten is a breakfast bar and a few much needed chocolates. Time to break out some leftovers and clean up my mess of a kitchen now that the kids are in bed. Mike- come home.

Happy
We signed our condo away today- the sale is final!
Tyson had free dress day. A coveted day in a school with uniforms.
Had a parent-teacher conference for Anna and she's FRIGGIN smart and LOVED by all her teachers.
Hayley's band kids did fabulous at SUPAF today. They received a SUPERIOR rating (it's the highest rating)!
Mike fixed many small emergencies at school today and is still alive to tell about it. What a hottie!

The End is in Sight
I know you're all sick of hearing my not-so-interesting thoughts on my job, but I think we're coming close to the end......
The last week of SUPAF is starting tomorrow. Praise the powers that be! The first week was great- better then great. It went so smoothly; much better than last year. There must be opposition in everything though and that opposition came this past Thursday with my vocal/percussion/woodwind/brass solo and ensemble day. This was a huge event with 5 sessions running at once in two different buildings. I was low on volunteers and high on problems. The first session began, then the second, then I waited but saw no sign of the third judge. As I'm waiting I get a call from the forth judge saying he's not coming. In the meantime, my husband calls judge #3 to find out he had left St. George an hour before forgetting that he was supposed to adjudicate. OH did words fly through my mind. The only thing that kept me from losing it was my attire. Yes, I know that sounds stupid, but it is true. I was dressed nice- like a lady and ladies don't lose their tempers- at least not out loud :) I smiled a lot and with help of Mike, we quickly went to work. It just so happened that the first student to play for judge #3 had a father that had taught band for many years! We know him well and he agreed to help out. Perfect. He started that session for us. Mike got a hold of a professor at the college who agreed to fill in for judge #4, but not for 45 min. Um....MIKE! Go adjudicate until he gets here! SO, all but one session is running now. The replacement for judge #3 had to leave and just as time was running out, another extremely talented man of that very area came out from listening to his son. PERFECT- AGAIN! He was kind enough to cancel work for the remainder of the day to step in. Small miracles folks- small miracles. Judge #5 showed up EARLY and all was well the remainder of the evening. Love it.
One of my judges told me that miracles happen when all that can be done has been and you can do nothing else without the help of God.
So, with that said, I am ready for week #3 and hoping for a repeat of week #1. BUT if by chance I need a miracle or two, I hope I have done enough to prepare so that God can step in and help me out. Mike will be gone for three days this week and I'm thinking I'm going to need that extra help- even if it only comes in the form of inner strength and emotional stability as I try to balance work, the kids, and SUPAF. I'll do it and it will all turn out in the end.....it always does.

Dixie Rock
We spent Presidents Day on Dixie Rock. It is SUCH beautiful weather. It is in the mid 60's this week and we couldn't stay inside the house and let that good weather go to waste. If you've been to St. George you've seen Dixie Rock. It is a bunch of boulders and hills made of red rock that sit on a cliff over looking the city and it is so fun to explore and climb. You have to see it to fully understand the beauty of the area. It's only about a 5 min. drive from our house. Anyway, here are some pics.
This is of me, Bray, and Ty. Even though you can't really see us, I think the picture of the sun is just so pretty.
Tyson was always ahead of us.
The kids found a small cave.
A NEW DISHWASHER!!
We got a new dishwasher!!! We've been waiting for months to replace our less-than-stellar dish "washing" machine. When most of the soap doesn't dissolve, most of the food is still on the plates, and a lovely film of "who knows what" is left behind, you know it's time for a replacement. I you've eaten at our house in the past few months- don't worry, we've made sure everything is clean. Anyway, we got a check from Mike's other job and went crazy (if you can call this crazy). It was a picture worthy event anyway.
Anna playing in the box with the cat. Yeah, the cat wasn't too happy.
Brayden helping Daddy. Looks like quite the man holding a screw driver while showing off his diaper. Good times.
