Be My Valentine
- Hope you all had a great V-day. We had fun. The kids woke up to Valentine suprises and Mike left a big boquet of flowers in the garage for me. It was funny.
- Tyson had a Val Day party at school and brought home a truck load of treats. They sent a note home last week telling us to bring 38 valentines. Well, I went to the store and bought a $1.99 box of "Cars" paper valentines. Ty had a great time writing his name on them and puting on the heart stickers. I loved it too. This is our first time doing the whole valentines at school thing, so I didn't realize the mad competition between PARENTS on how big and full of sugar the valentines should be, so we were quite the underdog. He came home with boxed chocolates, toys, pencils, and candy of every kind. I think Tyson gave the least, but hey, all that candy and stuff cost us only $1.99. I think we were the smart ones!
- Anna and I surprized Dad at school with a tower of boxes filled with candy, and a matted poem from the kids with their footprints on it. It took awhile to make, but Daddy loved it. After we picked up Tyson, we got McDonalds and took it to Dad's work and ate with him.
- After naps, Anna broke out with a terrible rash that we had never seen before so we took her to Instacare to find out she had hives. That was interesting. Poor kid.
- Mike took us out to dinner at Roccoco's (a very fine resturant in town) on a gift certificate he had received. We loved it, but unless we get another generous gift card, it's way out of our price range. After that, we went to an Irish concert put on by a group of siblings (there are 11 in all, but we only heard 7 of them). They were great. I, however, wasn't so fond of the lady next to me who smelled like alcohol and kept elbowing me. I wanted to punch her. Oh well, it gave me an excuse to lay on Mike's shoulder.
- When we came home, Tyson kept getting up feeling like he was going to barf. A perfect ending. We just kept laughing. There's never a true holiday without a rush to the doctor and someone throwing up! I know many of you parents can understand that one.
- So, we really did enjoy our day. It was fun to spend time together and be with Daddy more. We hope all of you had a very nice day!
