Pride in Our Little People

During family home evening tonight, Tyson and Anna both received some prestegious awards. I was going to take some pictures to post with this, but Anna wouldn't put her pants on for the shot, and I'm not sure I want her in her undies on a web site, so you'll just have to read.

Tyson has been doing great in preschool. He is READING his 4th book! Yes, reading. He amazes us. So, tonight he received the BEST READER IN THE HOUSE award courtesy of Microsoft Word. We are very proud.

Julianna is now a completly potty trained child. Whew! I think I should receive an award, too. Anyway, after figuring out her motivation (which happened to be a sticker chart, candy after each success, and a toy after each full day of no accidents) I finally got her attention. We went to the dollar store and I let her choose her awards. Then she went to work. She had fun putting on those stickers, and after 3 weeks and only a few accidents, we now have a very confident little toilet user. Anna was very proud to recieve the POTTY TRAINED award. We will at least have a few months with no diapers. Just don't remind Mike that we are starting over again.

So, it was a great night at the Winslow's house. Hope you all had an equally rewarding day! (Oh, and it snowed again. This time I wasn't so excited. Once is enough!)

How cute to give out little awards! You are so creative! Lets see, in my family, Alma would get the "cry-baby" award, and Lili would get the "Mario-nintento" award. She loves to play mommy's Nintendo DS. I sure miss you guys! Hope you're feeling good.
