Everyday Stories

Here's a little view of what we do everyday while Mike works. I try to keep the kids occupied. I don't always succeed, but really, who cares about the fits and less exciting stuff at days end. Usually it's the good stories we remember. I really love being with my kids and I find we all have better days when I give up on the chores for a bit and do the simple things they love. Somedays I feel like I'll go crazy if I have to answer one more "why" question or listen to my 3 year old tell me how to drive, but then, that's what makes me laugh when I think back on the day or week. We truly have fun together and we love eachother. I hope I can remember these days when they are grown, so that I can tell them about who they were, what they loved, and how they lived.
We often go to the park. Tyson rides his bike and I push Anna in a stroller or pull her in our wagon. She is still too short for her bike. It's a beautiful walk and the kids LOVE it.
Anna and James take turns riding in the back. Usually Anna rides in back on the way, and James gets the back as he naps on the way home.

They play so well together. They are really each others best friends at this point in life. Anna always asks for Ty when he's at school. Just today, I had "Aladdin" on in the playroom while I was cleaning the house. When I peeked in at them during a "scary" part, Tyson had his arms around his sister to make her feel better. I wanted to cry. It was so sweet.

Here's one of our many activities. We were making Applejack necklaces. A favorite activity is making notes (letters) for Daddy and leaving them at the foot of the door so that when he gets home, he will see them right away. They came up with that one by themselves.

This is a hug from Ty. Both are huggers. They love everyone!

  • There are so many things that happen everyday that make me appreciate my little kids. I am glad I can watch them grow. Today, we slept in (no school) and at about 8:00 they were both on my bed. We played and tickled each other for about a half-hour.
  • They live for the days when Daddy is home all day long. Anna and I have a little bedtime ritual. I ask her what her favorite part of the day was and then she asks me. The other night, she answered, "Seeing my daddy!". I agreed.
Anyway, I hope you were not overly bored with this post and my sappy stories. I just love my kids and my husband.

Hey everybody,
Thanks for the messages from Tyson and Anna. I love and miss you all too! That is so cute that Tyson had his arm around Anna during the scary part of Aladdin. How are you feeling Hayley? Probably ready to get the baby out. Yesterday we spent the day at Central Park. It was fun and a beautiful day. I love this city most of the time. Expect a little package in the mail sometime soon.
