No Foolin'

Happy April Fools Day! We spent ours in the hospital with Tyson as he received new ear tubes and had his adenoids removed. It was an adventure- poor guy. We have been preparing him all week for it and he did such a good job for being so scared. I took some pictures (I know, a little weird), but he loved the picture taking- it kept his mind off what was going on. His surgery was done at the Women/Childrens hospital (aka- The Old Hospital)
Ty cried for the first little bit when we got to the hospital. I had a present for him and he carried that around with his blanket for some time. He warmed up to the place and was his normal self through most of the wait. They were running behind, so we took a walk and he watched sme T.V.

He really didn't want to get the gown on, so I let him open one of the presents and that did it. He put on the gown and thought it was really fun.

The nurse gave him a color book and he went to work while we waited in the prep room. He had me sit ont he bed with him most of the time. They gave him some "calming" meds and then took him on a ride upstairs in the bed. He LOVED that part!
They re-checked everything upstairs. We called Daddy and then the meds began working. Wow, that was hilarious. He just rolled around on the bed saying "I can't lift my head" and laughing histarically. I, in turn, laughed the whole time too. I could barely make out a single word in his drunken verbage. He was so out of it that it was no big deal to him when they took him. That was good- I probably would have lost it.
  • I didn't take any after surgery photos. He was so sad. He doesn't remember much, which is good. He came in pulling at his IV and screaming for everyone to leave him alone. He just sobbed. I rocked him and talked to him. It took him almost an hour to come out of it. I hated seing that part, but glad I was there to help comfort him. He just dug his head into me a cried. He calmed down a little when he opened his other gifts. Eventually, he let them finish the tests and he ate a popsicle. He got to ride in a wheelchair to the car. He felt sick for awhile after, but watching the movie "Cars" helped when we got home. He is doing rather well now.

  • A big thanks to Robyn for taking care of Anna and her unexpected issues. I appreciate you so much, and you're right, I am now offically a blog junky :)

Cute pics of Tyson- we need to get our boys together to play this week. Thanks for the brownies, gone within minutes for sure! Anna and Brock were sooo cute together- they played store a lot and ate fake food. She even had a little moment when I told her it was time for lunch. She still wanted to swing so she got off the swing, slumped her shoulders over, and sadly walked to the house saying "I don't want nothin to eat for lunch!" It was soo cute! Brock has the slump walk down pat too so I couldn't help but laugh! Call me and we'll hang!
