While I have a moment..

I feel like life got really busy lately. Just the mom stuff- getting child A here, B here, go pick up A, doctors appt. for B. All the while child C is is needing a bottle or diaper change or a little attention and the house needs some serious TLC. So, I haven't been able to get much done this past week, well, anything extra that is. I just want to blot down a few things of worthy report while I do have a second.

• I have some great friends that I will always consider my best friends. The problem is that I met them all in college and now we all live in far off lands. One of my very closest and "BESTEST" is Cami Rae. Until now she has lived in Oregon, but just moved back to Utah. She lives in Vernal, which by all accounts is not close but better than Oregon. We were music geeks together and I have many a story to tell (at a different time) about our friendship. She came this past week to visit me. It was too short a visit of course, but I loved seeing her. All of our kids are in the same age groups and loved playing together while we laughed about copying each others papers in school, stupid music stuff that only stupid music people understand, and just random mom stuff. I loved it and I can't wait until the next time I see her!
• I have a job. Yes, a job. I was asked if I would be interested in taking over the responsibilities of organizing the Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival. I said an enthusiastic yes. I knew it would be a lot of work, but one never really knows what goes into anything until they do it. I'm organizing a 2 week festival for ALL of the bands, choirs, orchestras, Jazz bands, Percussion groups, dance groups, and over 300 students of private teachers in Southern Utah. Whew! It's quite the job. Mostly, it's a lot of leg work. Getting facilities, having judges lined up along with their hotels and compensation, contacting all of the teachers in the area, scheduling the performance times of every group, collecting entry forms, giving awards, etc. I'm using the help of the previous director a lot in getting everything accomplished (like contact names and such). Anyway, I'll keep you updated....

Well, I think my second is up as my 3 year old is struggling with breakfast right now, I have to still get ready, and my Squishy will be waking any moment. Oh, but one more thing- my sister is coming home (to SLC) today with baby Derek. Baby Ian has to stay in a hospital in Virgina until he's well enough to come home. Very hard for my sister I'm sure. You should all look at her blog. She has pictures of her twins on there......BYE FOR NOW!
