My New BFF

I hesitate to post this picture because I look like TRaSH, but I can't help but show off the night I had last night. This is Allen Vizzutti. Most of you non-brass players out there are probably wondering who that is. He's the guy in the purple jacket. He also plays the trumpet tremendously well. In fact, I studied trumpet out of his books in college. Crazy huh. This is the second time I've played with him. The first time was in Reno in an honors band during college. I had just found out the day before the trip that I was pregnant with Anna. I was SO sick. I was barfing the whole trip and missed tons of rehearsals. One night I had gone down the the gift shop at the hotel looking for something to help my stomach, and guess who I run into. Yep, it was him. I was in pj's and looked like crap, but he talked to me for quite awhile and was so kind. This time, when I introduced myself, he remembered me. I guess you'd remember the chick who was screwing up rehearsals because she's barfing. Anywho, last night was a really fun concert and I'm glad there are people like Allen (and DJ) out there who can play so well. It's an inspiration to the rest of us. Oh, and this picture really makes me think I should find some new concert black. What a frumpy looking shirt.
