Captian Feather Wings!

This is Tyson's first project of 2nd grade. He had to make a 3 dimensional bug. We added some antennae after this photo was taken but the rest lives up to what the teacher asked of the kids. Before we made it Ty wanted to name his bug "Junior Deathbug" (after last years bug winner). Well, when this bug started taking shape and Ty started adding the color, we decided "deathbug" didn't really fit. So we brainstormed. Ty has read all of the Captain Underpants books. If you know the books you'll know that there are some really funny made-up names. We decided on Captain Feather Wings. It cracked Tyson up so it stuck. I personally enjoy the button ears and the tuft of hair on the bug. On Friday, all 4 2nd grade classes displayed the bugs in the lunchroom for all to see. I'm proud of Tyson for the effort he put in and the creativity he has.

Soccer!

Soccer! Woo hoo! Tyson played a couple of years ago. Last year he took gymnastics and hated it, so this year he decided to take soccer again. Mike is the teams coach (which he is really liking) and the boys are just great. Ty is the whitest and tallest on the team and I think he's the oldest as well. There are about 3 really aggressive boys on the team that have been great at helping get some big wins. Tyson has been trying really hard and has had some great kicks and passes. He seems to love it and we hope it sticks. Here are some photo's I took a couple games ago. So far the boys have won 2 out of the 3 games they have played.

Baby Gryn

Beth had her baby! For the kids that means a new cousin to love! The second we walked in the door to meet the little guy Tyson ran and washed his hands then sat on the couch very readyt o hold the baby. He's a very sweet little guy and we all were very happy for Beth and Chad! Here are the pics of all the cute kiddos.

Family Pictures

There was a boy in my class last year that really liked me. Really good kid, great flute player, and really quiet in class. At the end of the year, he gave me a note and inside his mom wrote that she was a photographer and as a gift, she would like to take our family photos. Crazy. That's a huge offer, so I took it :) We haven't had a chance to do it because of Brayden's torn up face this summer and Tyson had a sore from licking his lips this summer as well. When the boys were finally healed, Anna got another very large sty. It was now or never so we decided to do it anyway and she said she would edit out the sty. Well, she did a beautiful job and I thought I'd share the pictures.

The picture above is my favorite of Anna!

Don't you love how Bray is trying to do a thumbs up with the other kids!

Just so I can Remember....

I love my two year old. He pokes, hits, and bugs his sister to death, but when he's not doing that, he's the sweetest and MOST enjoyable child. He hugs and kisses me all the time. He comes up to me and asks to "hold you" just because he wants to cuddle. Tonight I was playing on the floor with him. He reached up and asked "hug"? I told him I loved to hug him. Then I whispered that I also loved to kiss him. He stood straight up and he said "love to tickle"! So the next ten minutes I tickled him. He loves playing children's games and he, Anna, and I played Duck-Duck-Goose this afternoon. Anna always makes up other words for Duck and there's usually a theme to the words. Today was hot dogs. So she went around saying catsup, mustard, buns, hot dogs, etc until she hit goose. It's so funny because she giggles about it the whole time. Bray gets up and says ducky head and never really says goose but just starts running. If two other people are up running, he gets up as well which is really funny when there's only three of us and all of us are running in a circle.

I love the smell of my kids when they get out of the bath, love watching them discover new things, when they teach me how to be a better parent, how they play with their friends, watching them do amazing things at school- not only in academics but in how they treat their friends and teachers. Two neighbor friends came over today and they were here at lunch time. We decide to just feed them and Mike and I just laughed as we listened to the conversation at the table. Non-stop giggles, Tyson trying to be the clown, Bray trying so hard to join in on the conversation and the kids being very gracious to him (letting him be in their "clubs" and such). I realize I have great kids. I am a lucky mom and a lucky wife.....because I have a great husband as well.

My Little Dancer!

Anna auditioned for the Nutcracker a week ago today! There were 22 little girls trying out for the parts of the Baby Mice (so cute)! I really wasn't sure how it would go because we had to take her out of the audition early to make it to Cedar in time for our show. I put her hair in pig tails, bobby pinned her bangs back (poorly) and we went to the studio. A number was pinned on her and I looked around to find every little girls hair put up in a beautiful bun.....except Anna's. She didn't care but I wondered how much it would affect the judges....especially since we were pulling her out early. Anyway, we got done and, being relatively new to this whole dance thing, I had no idea how we would hear about results. I didn't hear anything after a few days so I figured she didn't make it. No big deal. She understands what an audition is and she is still young enough to not get upset about it. Then, on Wednesday, I get a message telling me when the Nutcracker parent meeting is. What? So I called and sure enough, Anna had made it and I just hadn't known that the results were posted at the studio. So, our little Anna will be a Baby Mouse in this years production. She is so thrilled and we are starting to understand why boys are cheaper than girls :)

I am tired of coming up with post titles :(

I have time to write so I guess I will. This week has been crazy. I have had 9 seizures total since last Saturday and apparently we are still counting. We have had some great help from friends, neighbors, co-workers, and ward members. Funny how it happens the week of my 5 yr mark from surgery. Silly how things like that line up sometimes. Not sure what is exactly causing all the trouble, but the thought is that my meds are to blame. They've been adjusted and now I wait for an appt. with my neuro.

The words "damn" and "hell" have been part of my regular vocabulary this week- unless students or my own kids have been present- not that they don't still enter my mind :) I have always had an attitude of "beating it". I hate "it" being the controlling force, but this week I have given in and let it rule- mostly because I haven't had much of a choice. People have been so awesome though. I've had co-workers check on me, take my classes, ward members have brought food as I have slept most of the week, the Elders have given me a blessing, my visiting teachers and car pool exchange have taken my kids while I was at the ER, and just in general, people have been very kind and generous to my family. I am humbled and feel indebted to those people and THANK YOU everyone for your help. The hero of the week is Mike though. He has taken time off work, has taken the kids out so I can sleep, he gave me a blessing, ran me to the ER, etc, etc. He really has more to go through with this stuff than I do and I have a lot to repay him. I love the guy more than anything. I had a seizure this morning, but they are slowing down and I am happy for that. I guess that's it. I feel quite conquered right now but hope that there will be some kind of renewal coming in the next week.
